Bondalti awarded with “Vasco da Gama” excellence prize
The success of the internationalization strategy and the strengthening of its presence in Spain led to the conquest of one of the most important corporate awards at the Iberian level.
Bondalti was distinguished with the “Vasco da Gama” 2022 business excellence award, promoted by the Spanish-Portuguese Commerce and Industry Chamber. Celebrating this year its 19th edition, this award aims to recognize Portuguese and Spanish companies that have contributed with a high strategic and economic value to the Iberian market, while strengthening relations between Portugal and Spain.
The awards attribution event took place in Madrid and was attended by more than a hundred personalities from the business world and official bodies from both countries.
The group’s CEO, João de Mello, was present on behalf of Bondalti, referring on the occasion that “receiving this award is a reason for great satisfaction and, at the same time, an important recognition of our internationalization strategy. We deeply believe in a dynamic Iberian market.”
“We are fully convinced that the areas of excellence that Bondalti promotes in Portugal and Spain - Industrial Chemicals and Water Treatment -, will play a fundamental role in the climate transition, as pillars of a sustainable development. We are therefore looking to the future with new applications of our industrial and scientific knowledge, such as the production of green hydrogen, certain that this will be the key element in the process of decarbonizing the economy towards carbon neutrality”, concluded João de Mello.
Among the personalities present were also the Portuguese ambassador in Spain, João Mira Gomes, and the president of the Spanish-Portuguese Chamber, António Calçada. In their speeches, they highlighted the Chamber's commitment to the processes of internationalization of companies, supporting them with qualified information on the markets and building bridges to strengthen the two economies in an increasingly complex and competitive global context.
Founded in 1971 by a group of Portuguese and Spanish businessmen, the Spanish-Portuguese Commerce and Industry Chamber is a non-profit association whose main objective is to support companies operating in the Iberian Peninsula. Over the years, it has also sought to foster economic, commercial, cultural and social relations between Portugal and Spain, as well as to develop the link between the two States and third countries.
