Cantabria factory receives institutional visit
The president of the Regional Government of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Revilla, has praised Bondalti’s role in creating wealth and employment in that Spanish region and has expressed his belief that the company has promising growth prospects there.
The head of the autonomous community was speaking during a visit to the Bondalti factory in Torrelavega, at a ceremony that was also attended by the mayors of Torrelavega, Javier López Estrada, and Polanco, Rosa Díaz Fernandez, as well as the Portuguese ambassador to Spain, João Mira-Gomes. Bondalti was represented by the chairman of the company, João de Mello, as well as by the entire Executive Board.
In turn, the ambassador, João Mira-Gomes, highlighted the fact that Bondalti’s project represents “one of Portugal’s biggest investments in Spain” and forms an important link between Cantabria and our country.
João de Mello, Bondalti’s chairman, underlined the success of the investment by the company in Cantabria and spoke of the essential contribution of company employees in both Portugal and Torrelavega. For the head of the company, this success story is also due to the fact that “from day one, we have seen that the industry is welcome in Cantabria”.
The Torrelavega factory, opened in 2020, represents an investment of 60 million euros and positions Bondalti as a major producer, in terms of installed capacity, in the Chlor-Alkalis segment on the Iberian Peninsula.
