Enkrott present at national and international events

Enkrott recently participated in two important events, in which, at different times, made clear its strong spirit of innovation and the way it can contribute to the correct use of water as a pillar of sustainability, reinforcing its position as a relevant player in the sector. in which it operates.

At an international level, the company participated in IFAT, one of the world's largest fairs dedicated to the management of water and waste water, which took place in Munich from 30 May to 3 June.

In line with the strong spirit of innovation that has marked the company's activity over the years, this participation had as its main highlight a new cabin structure built in HDPE (high density polyethylene) with innovative PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) dosing lines. By offering high chemical and mechanical resistance, PVDF is one of the few materials able to deal with chemicals with high concentration, such as 98% sulfuric acid, a very relevant characteristic in several applications.

Enkrott also brought to IFAT consolidated solutions for water treatment, namely a Polymer Preparer, which allows the dosing of powdered flocculants into ready-to-use solutions, and an Ultrafiltration System with membrane-based technology, technically very effective in removing pathogenic organisms as well as the majority of viruses and bacteria.

The sustainable use of resources as a pillar of environmental protection was the central theme of this edition of IFAT, which marked the return of the event after a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the five days of the fair, which was attended by more than 2900 exhibitors from 50 countries, Enkrott intended to strengthen the relationship with current customers and share experiences among a truly global community dedicated to this sector.

“Recover”, “reuse” and “recycle” in focus on Greenfest

The correct use of water in different socio-economic contexts as a pillar of sustainability was the central theme of the intervention by Jorge Martins, Enkrott’s director of Innovation and Chemicals, at Greenfest, held in Braga.

During his participation in the panel dedicated to the “Pact for Water Management in Portugal”, Jorge Martins highlighted that water is a fundamental element in the creation of sustainable economies that support the settlement of communities, pointing out as a path the development of concepts such as “recover”, “reuse” and “recycle”, based on a logic of circular economy transversal to the most diverse economic and industrial sectors.

The director of Innovation and Chemicals at Enkrott also addressed a recent success case in the company's activity, focused on the recovery, reuse and conservation of water in the cooling towers of an industrial unit in the Sines complex, which allowed, through the application of integrated systems including filtration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, recover around 800 thousand cubic meters per year, reducing by more than 80% the amount of water sent to the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP).
