João de Mello is a member of the CEFIC Board of Directors

The president of Bondalti, João de Mello, was appointed to the Board of Directors of CEFIC - European Chemical Industry Council, the most important association in the chemical sector in Europe, based in Brussels.

Founded in 1972, CEFIC currently has around 650 members and associated entities and is today one of the most active networks in the European business community. The association gives voice to small, medium and large companies in this industry established on the European continent, which represent about 15% of the sector globally and employ around 1.2 million people.

Through the deep scientific and technological knowledge held by its members, CEFIC is strongly committed to promoting the creation and provision of sustainable, safe and efficient solutions that contribute to the fulfillment of the great goals of sustainability (specifically the European Green Deal), decisive for future generations and in which the chemical industry plays a crucial role. In 2022 alone, in Europe, this sector invested 9.4 billion euros in Research and Innovation.

For Bondalti, this appointment, which took place at a time when it has just expanded its activity to two other strategic areas in the field of sustainability - water treatment and green energy - represents a reaffirmation of its relevance as a leading player in the European space.
