Technological innovation, circularity and sustainability were the themes that marked Bondalti Water's recent participation in two major international events – ENERH2O, in Porto, and the Renewable Gas Fair, in Valladolid – where it had the opportunity to share its value proposition with a wide range of professionals in the sector.
At ENERH2O - Energy and Water Fair, the company presented its advances in innovation and sustainability for the Integral Water Cycle to more than three thousand visitors at Exponor, focusing on water and energy efficiency, compliance with environmental goals and the digitisation of industrial processes, with applications in a wide range of areas.
During the event, Bondalti Water gave a presentation on ‘Boosting the circular economy in WWTPs through optimisation, energy efficiency and water reuse’, which demonstrated how the application of innovative solutions can transform water treatment in various sectors:
- Food industry: implementation of integrated solutions for wastewater treatment and recovery, incorporating biogas production as an energy source;
- Paper industry: water demineralisation and reuse processes to improve operational efficiency and sustainability;
- Hotel sector in the Algarve: desalination systems designed to respond to high water demand, optimising resources and ensuring responsible use.
The presentation was given by the Commercial Department, namely Carlos Carvalho, head of Portugal, and João Pedro Falcão, manager of the Northern Region.
Biogas: know-how applied to a rapidly growing sector
At the Renewable Gas Fair, the most important event on biogas, biomethane and other renewable gases in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, Bondalti Water presented technological solutions that integrate advanced water management with biogas and biomethane production processes, enabling the conversion of waste into green energy.
At the same time, the 18th International Bioenergy Congress was held, where the company presented the topic ‘Real success stories: Integral project with biogas self-consumption in industry and digestate treatment/recovery’, with the participation of António Alonso, administrator of Bondalti Water, Luis Carlos Martinez, technical director, and Eduardo Ferrer, proposal manager.

The focus of the presentations was on various projects demonstrating the reduction in costs and emissions achieved through biogas self-consumption, the conversion of waste into valuable resources through digestate recovery, and how the integration of water, energy and waste drives industrial sustainability and profitability.
