Bondalti Water has signed a contract with the beverage company Damm for the operation and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at its El Prat de Llobregat plant in Barcelona.

The WWTP, which will now be managed by Bondalti Water, treats a very large volume of water. Bondalti Water will apply management and operation techniques that will improve the quality of discharges, the facilities themselves and variable operating costs, such as energy, chemicals and sludge production, applying all its know-how in the operation of the WWTP.
The contract signed with the renowned Catalonia-based brewery includes the incorporation of Bondalti Water's innovative solutions and state-of-the-art technologies in water treatment and process digitalisation, enabling increased efficiency and circularity in water resource management, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) - ‘Clean water and sanitation’.
Advanced technology and operational efficiency
To optimise preventive maintenance of the facility, Bondalti Water will implement a Computer-Assisted Maintenance Management System (CMMS), which will enable comprehensive management of the plant's operation, technical control and financial management. This digitalised platform will facilitate warehouse management, purchasing, and incident handling and control, improving operational efficiency and optimising resources. The system will also enable better communication between the different departments of the company.
In addition, the implementation of this technology will not only ensure more efficient maintenance monitoring and control, but will also improve the organisation of the service, the execution of maintenance work and the traceability of activities, which will reduce costs and improve the planning and coordination of operations.
Commitment to sustainability and the circular economy
This project will last four years and is scheduled for completion in February 2028. During this time, Bondalti Water will work closely with Damm to optimise operations and strengthen circular economy practices at the plant.
