PACOPAR celebrates 25 years

PACOPAR – the Community Advisory Panel for the Responsible Action Programme in Estarreja – celebrated its 25th anniversary, bringing together local entities, industry representatives, the educational community and institutional partners.

The initiative, which took place at the Cine-Teatro de Estarreja, marked a journey of continuous collaboration and reinforced the importance of building bridges for the development of actions that support the municipality's population and promote its collective well-being. The commemorative programme also included a guided tour of the industrial units of the Estarreja Chemical Complex (CQE), where it was possible to observe the technological, operational and environmental transformations implemented in recent years.

Over the past two and a half decades, PACOPAR has been a space for dialogue and proximity between industry and the community, contributing to the support of dozens of local institutions, participation in social, cultural and sports projects, and the training of young people.

During the celebration, David Lopes, Bondalti's administrator, highlighted that ‘PACOPAR is an example of how an industrial chemical complex can and should play an active role in building a better future for its surrounding community.’

PACOPAR was created in 2001 following the voluntary participation of CQE companies, including Bondalti, in the Responsible Care Programme, an international initiative that aims to optimise the performance of companies in various areas, improve employee safety and promote the well-being of communities.
